Your on-site tool now lives on your phone
A busy few weeks. Most of it is the sort of work nobody asks for by name — a lot of small things put right — but three of them change what you can do, so those first.
1 · On-site now installs like an app
The on-site tool — the one you use standing outside a property, with the GPS pin, the photos and the specification — can now sit as an icon on your phone's home screen. One tap and you are in, full screen, no address bar and no typing a URL at somebody's front gate.
Here is how, on iPhone or Android:
Open that on the phone itself. It works out which phone you have and shows only the steps you need — three taps on either. Sign in once inside the icon and it stays signed in.
Value now, or save it for the office and finish the paperwork later. The Value and Save buttons now stay at the bottom of the screen, so you are not scrolling to the end of a form with a client waiting.
2 · Your listings, and they stay yours
A listing now holds everything the valuation side holds — views, orientation, condition, energy rating, the full specification, and your own note on the place. Correct anything and it re-values from the corrected facts, at no charge: a sea view you forgot to tick is not a new valuation, it is the same one with the truth in it.
These are private. Nothing you save is published, listed anywhere, or visible to another customer. Your team sees your team's work — the person who created a listing edits it, a director can step in — and nobody outside your organisation sees any of it. That is not a setting you have to find and switch on; it is how it is built.
3 · Where the market is moving
Every property on your desk now carries a Trend column: which way the price per square metre in that area has moved over the last six months, and how confident we are in it. It is on the PDF report too, where it is now hard to miss rather than easy to.
It is drawn from the same evidence as the valuation, so it is the market around that specific property — not a national headline that has nothing to do with the street you are standing on. Where there is not enough dated evidence to say honestly, it says nothing rather than guessing.
And a long list of small things
Most of this newsletter is one feature. Most of the actual work was this:
- One property, one figure. The desk, the comparables panel, the valuation and the PDF now always agree — they used to drift a per cent or two apart, which is a per cent or two of argument you did not need.
- Commercial and industrial premises are no longer priced off residential flats.
- Duplicate comparables were quietly moving valuations. They are collapsed now, and shown as one.
- IBI and community arrears were missing from the full property view. They are subtracted from your maximum bid, so a blank read as "nothing owed".
- The whole platform is now properly bilingual — the walkthrough, the reports, and every email we send you.
- Print and export: pick several properties and produce one package — the valuations, the evidence and the specifications together.
Keep telling us
Several of the fixes above came from a customer sitting down with the walkthrough and writing up everything that read badly. That is genuinely how this gets better. The feedback box is in the app, it reaches a person, and it is read.
If something is slow, wrong, or just annoying — say so. Reply to this email and it lands with us.
